Description:

Oecophylla smaragdina is one of the most unique ant species, because they use leaves and larval silk to build nests. It is also one of the most Beautiful as queens come in a variety of shades of yellow to blue-green. In Asia, workers come in a red to orange colouration, while in Australia, workers are partly green coloured. However, this very common species is also known to be extremely aggressive.
